Youth Ambassadors from Bolivia to NC

Three Bolivian youth will arrive in Raleigh February 25 and stay until March 7, 2009 as part of the Youth Ambassadors initiative that Partners of the , Washington, DC and the North Carolina and Cochabamba, are sponsoring. This cross-cultural exchange promotes increased mutual understanding among peoples of the . The Youth Ambassador Program is funded by the US State Department through the Office of Citizen Exchanges, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. The program begins with a five day study tour of Washington, D.C.

Cochabamba Partners election results

The Cbba Partners election results: Janet Morales is the new President of CBBA Partners. Marlene Mercado was elected as Vice-President and President elect. Guillermo Zubieta continues as Secretary. Cinthya Esprella is Recording Secretary (minutes) with Melisa Quispe’s assistance. Melisa is one of the Youth Ambassadors.
 

Youth Ambassadors from Bolivia to NC

February 25 - March 7, NC Partners are hosting 3 high-school-age young people from the Bolivia as part of the Youth Ambassadors initiative that Partners of the Americas began in 2003 in Brazil. They are living with volunteer families, and attending school in Raleigh, and experiencing many other activities. Youth Ambassadors who will visit North Carolina are Nineth Maria Miranda Moyam, Chuquisaca (age 17), Fiorela Palomino Cruz, Tarija (15), Fabricio Suarez Rocha, Cochabamba (15) In addition to those coming to NC, 4 will go the Utah, and 3 to Arkansas.

Steve Gibson to travel to Bolivia

As an outgrowth of the work and connections Steve has done and made in Bolivia, he plans to go work to help construct a rural school in Torancali, Feb. 11 - 24. He will then join his church group on Feb. 26 to do a project in Tupiza. While in Bolivia, Steve will also meet with Mauricio Ramirez to continue development of agriculture projects for Partners. Mauricio is the counterpart agricultural coordinator in Cbba.
