We are happy to welcome Joe Repp as the Duke work-study student who will work closely with Partners, assisting with Member Relations, including tasks such as maintaining the membership directory, sending welcome packets to new members, helping to create a member recruiting plan for NC POA; and with other tasks such as researching internship opportunities in Cochabamba for interested North Carolina students and researching possible grants that would jointly fund NCPOA and DCID (Duke Center for International Development) projects around the broad theme of sustainable development in Latin America. As he comes on board in August, these tasks will be prioritized and refined. He has been working this year in Santiago de Chile on a project in microfinance at NGO Acción Emprendedora. He has made plans to pass through Cochabamba to meet with our Partners members there. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science with a minor in Economics, Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
